This ensemble emerges as a response to a near absence of groups exclusively dedicated to avant-garde music and to direct collaboration with creators and other formations in a laboratory format.

Through adaptability, a creative and communicative perspective, Concrète [Lab] Ensemble also aims to bring new musical languages and aesthetics to a wider audience, opposing any elitism or niche mentality.

Since its creation, the Concrète [Lab] Ensemble has found its space through a collaboration with the Sociedade de Instrução Guilherme Cossoul.  

To this extent, Concrète [Lab] Ensemble has developed its initial course in close relationship with composers and betting on openness and receptivity to any collaboration for creation or interdisciplinary performances in the universe of experimental music.
